Helpful Advice on Traveling

  • Patron Assistance booths are usually available in most arrival areas of the airport terminal. Seek them out if you have any questions.
  • Only use clearly marked taxicabs. Be sure your taxi driver turns on the meter at the beginning of your ride, so that you are charged a fair rate. Taxi drivers are normally tipped 15% of the cost of the ride.
  • Have some American Money (USD) available upon entering the country. U.S. coins will be useful for tipping (15%), telephone calls, and miscellaneous expenses. There is a bank for this purpose at all major airports.
  • Keep all money, jewelry, passports and other valuables on your person until you are settled into your room at Lehigh University. The best idea is to wear your passport, important documents, and your money under your clothing. There have been thefts at the airports so be careful.
  • Travelers checks/credit cards are the best means of carrying large sums of money.
