GLOBAL VILLAGE 2008 PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

Thank you for your offer of an internship in the 2008 Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry

By accepting this offer to participate in the 2008 Global Village, I acknowledge that I am expected to conduct myself as an ambassador of my country and my culture. I commit to represent my country to the best of my ability actively and enthusiastically by participating in Global Village 2008 activities, including, but not limited to:

1. I will serve on an assigned multicultural project team.  While I will have an opportunity to request my preference for a project, I understand that assignments are made with several objectives in mind, including team diversity, client needs and expectations, and skill sets necessary for successful project completion.  I commit to dedicate my time and efforts to the benefit of the team and the interests of our client. I understand that I will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement as part of my assigned project.

2. I will participate on a country panel on “my country” and/or “my region” as per the guidelines provided on the Global Village website and literature.  I will be informed of other interns also representing my country and I will work with them to prepare for our country’s presentation as a team.  

3. I understand that my full enthusiastic participation in all Learning Activities is essential to the beneficial experience of my fellow Global Villagers and I therefore commit to attend all the mandatory session and those optional sessions for which I register.

4. I will work closely with my assigned Guide, both pre-program and during the program, to create my personal profile and select my courses, executive visits, optional trips and other activities.  I will attend all activities I have signed up for.

5. I will conduct myself at all times as a young professional, respecting all local laws and ordinances, Lehigh University rules and regulations, and Global Village guidelines for appropriate behavior and dress.  I understand that I will be residing on-campus in a multicultural communal living arrangement and I will consciously conduct myself in a manner that ensures the comfort and safety of myself, my fellow residents and our neighbors.

I am demonstrating acceptance of this offer by signing below.  I will forward a deposit of $2000.00 (USD) by ____________ to reserve my space in Global Village 2008.
