Partnering Opportunities

Save a Space for Your Students, Faculty and Staff

We presently have about 35 partner universities and businesses that send interns regularly to the program. Therefore, about 80% of the 75-80 intern slots are committed each year. There is still the possibility of 1-2 of your students coming to the program

When our two institutions establish a partnership agreement in the form of a "letter of understanding” we guarantee that we will hold the number of spots we have agreed upon for your candidates.  You agree that if we hold a spot for your student(s), you will conduct a recruiting campaign among your students and staff to insure that it will in fact be filled and the tuition paid. Space in this program is highly competitive and this guarantees that a spot will be reserved for you and it also guarantees that we will not lose a strong applicant by holding a position for someone from your school who does not come to the program.

Typical agreements with our partnership institutions usually include a financial incentive for the student from both the Iacocca Institute and the education institution for which one or two student spots are held. Tuition for the program is $6,500 USD and a scholarship is offered by the Iacocca Institute for a portion of the tuition while the sponsoring institution pays the remaining portion of the tuition.  For example, the Iacocca Institute will pay $2,000 per student while the partner institution pays 1/3 ($2,000) of the tuition, and the remaining 1/3 ($2,500) will be the responsibility of the potential candidate. We also have partnership Institutions that will pay $4,500 for each student, and we pay the balance ($2,000) of the tuition.

A formal partnership relationship allows our partner to utilize the connection to an international program in their promotions and efforts for recruitment.  For instance, one of our partners is a private international university founded by two prominent local businessmen.  One of their selling points to parents of prospective students is that their sons/daughters will have an opportunity to compete for an internship in this highly competitive, renowned leadership program in the United States.

Universities interested in exploring a partner relationship with the Iacocca Institute are encouraged to contact Mary Frances Schurtz-Leon, Candidate Manager at mfs2@lehigh.edu  or  610-758-6887.

Course Facilitators

Exposure to some of the most critical topics affecting companies of today and leaders of tomorrow is what the Global Village is all about. With more than 50 courses presented by 40 facilitators, including at least 12 international instructors, interns discover business trends and best practices needed to understand the global marketplace.  Many of our skilled practitioners come to us through our partner universities.  All course seminars are 3 hours in length and offer a small stipend.   For more information on beinbg a facilitator in the Global Village, please contact Sherry Buss, Curriculum Director at slb9@lehigh.edu or 610-758-6509.
