Lehigh University’s Iacocca Institute and the Chinese University of Hong Kong have partnered to produce the next version of Global Village On The Move in to be held in Central Hong Kong, China, November 9-18, 2008.  An “on location” and themed version of the Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry® program, GVotM Hong Kong will focus on the dynamic Asian business environment and how individuals from around the world may learn proven techniques and develop network connections that have been used in successful business ventures in the region. General Information

Global Village On the Move programs focus on unique business and cultural environments by taking participants to dynamic locations throughout the world and providing focused learning experiences. Presented on location, On the Move programs leverage the expertise of our global partner organizations and the elements of the Iacocca Institute flagship program, the Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry®. The Global Village program builds on the central mission that the knowledge of business and industry, the skills of leadership and entrepreneurship, and the continuous development of a powerful global network are essential for today’s most successful young professionals.

Organized around a regionally focused business theme, On the Move programs include lively, interactive learning experiences delivered through a series of class sessions, facilitated workshops, executive “learning from experience” sessions, and regionally-based case study sessions or business simulations. The programs are focused on the participants’ regional business interests and a striving for cultural understanding. Carefully selected instructors and facilitators for the On the Move programs are experts in different fields of interest related to the core focus of each program. Visits to local organizations provide participants with a firsthand account of how business operates in the On the Move location. Cultural trips provide participants with a familiarity of how people live in the host country.

The most important aspect of the Global Village On the Move program is the people who participate. College students, young professionals, and seasoned business leaders learn together through unparalleled opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and share their regional experiences and points of view. Working with like-minded business experts, facilitators, and other attendees, Global Village On the Move participants share a unique learning experience that complements their desire to be successful in the local, regional, and global marketplace.

Seven-to-ten days in length, Global Village On the Move programs have been held in Peru in 2000, Spain in 2003, Australia in 2005, and the United Arab Emirates in 2006. Global Village On the Move Hong Kong is scheduled for 2008.
